Wear it and throw it away
Will anyone then be able to believe that in
the years to come we will also embellish garments that are made of paper? The
idea to make paper costumes first came to mind in 1966 from John Scott, owner
of the Scott Paper Company in Kansas City, USA. For the first time in the
history of the world, he started manufacturing "Wear and throw" type
of paper garments in consultation with his company's shareholders. At that
time, it seemed that a revolution was about to take place in the garment
industry. These paper garments were widely advertised.
News about him was
published in newspapers at home and abroad. As a result, the Scott Paper
Company, which manufactures these paper garments, began receiving thousands of
orders. Dealers and distributors began to investigate this new and unique
invention. It turned out that the Scots had actually used paperware as a
publicity stunt to boost sales of their other paper products.
But at that time, the production of paper
clothes had really started. Although it was on a limited scale. They were used
to match the light blue uniforms of Pan American Airways flight attendants.
They were also used in kitchens. Once used, they were discarded.
Over time, the production of paper costumes
also improved. Cosmetics stores began buying thousands of white-striped pink
gowns for sale in their stores. These gowns were used in salons. They were
manufactured by Zimmer End, a California company. Which was at the forefront of
the manufacture of disposable items.
The company was famous for its paper coats
for laboratory workers, paper gowns for food experimenters, and paper shoes for
hospital cleaners. "Within ten decades, there will be a significant
increase in the demand for discarded coats and cloaks in every industrial
unit" said Herr Lidsmer, president of the firm.
Paper gowns are great for whitewashing and
painting walls, protecting their clothes from splatter and stains. If everyone
keeps a paper gown in their car, this gown will save them from the cost of dry
cleaning when they open the tires or do any other work. That is, it will
protect her clothes from the stains of grease and other things. This gown is
available in the market for only two and a half dollars. It can be used a
second time after a single-use. Because it is made very durable.
Scott and Cumber Clark, two leading
American paper companies used a thin nylon net to create a stronger and more
durable paper cloth by placing it between thick layers of paper using a special
process. They made a paper cloth that looked and looked like a normal cloth. The
fabric was also made with the addition of some chemical ingredients so that it
would not be affected by the fire and would not be damaged by soaking in water. The
cloth was mostly used to make jackets for street workers.
Hospitals and doctors have long been using
discarded clothing, jackets, and surgical gowns. From an economic point of view,
the use of paper garments saves money. A discarded paper gown costs 25 cents.
It costs forty cents to wash a normal gown. According to a report by a private gynecologist,
there are many other benefits besides saving paper bags. They are packed in a
box of fifty. It can be easily stored. They do not have any problems with spots,
cracks or binding. In addition, patients prefer gowns that have never been used
before.
Paper cloth has now begun to be introduced
not only in the United States but also in South American countries,
universities, paper degree gowns and caps. Which are discarded after use Men's
swimwear made of paper sheets. Commonly available in the markets. The Devent
Paper Company has developed paper sheets into everything from book covers and
wall coverings to swimwear.
Paper handkerchiefs are bought in large numbers in
hotels and provided to customers. The handkerchiefs look very nice and suitable
to use and are beautiful to look at. Children's bibs and other clothes are also
made from paper cloth. So are paper sheets and pillowcases. Paper sheets are so
big that they cover the whole bed.
These sheets are used by the US Department
of the Army in the tens of millions. The Department of Defense orders millions
of paper-lined paper shoes and sheets for soldiers each year. The use of paper
covers and caps is common on trains and airplanes. Paper handkerchiefs are also
widely used.
It is a fact that buyers do not buy
everything just by looking at the price. Tissue paper, for example, is one of
the most widely sold and widely used items of all time. It does not save money
but it does provide cleaning and convenience. Similarly, a housewife does not
buy paper napkins just for the sake of saving when she has her own laundry.
For
years, women have been working hard to clean earthen bags around vacuum
cleaners. When paper bags were introduced, they immediately gave them a general
certificate and ignored the prices. Now the same trend is being seen with baby
diapers. Fabric diapers were used, but disposing of them was a problem. But now
paper diapers have made it easier. They are flush after use. The sale of paper
diapers has skyrocketed everywhere these days. This is a tribute to the
economy.
Another noteworthy fact about discarded
items is that many of them are slowly gaining acceptance. For example, paper
towels. The paper towel was introduced by John Scott in 1967. These towels did
not gain popularity because they were too thick and heavy and could not be used
in toilets. Twenty-four years later, they began to be prepared for domestic
use. Yet they did not gain such popularity. But nowadays housewives use them in
billions every year.
If trade history is a guide, then use it
and throw it away. Spreading the popularity of this type of item opens the door
to the invention and acceptance of other items such as paper napkins, paper
towels, and Paper gowns to coastal clothing.
But no matter how popular paper apparel and
other paper products may be, it cannot be said with certainty whether they will
compete with fabrics made of cotton, silk, polyester and other natural and
unnatural fibers. The paper weaver is not paid as much as the other weaver. The same is true of the factories that manufacture them. But there is a possibility
that a solution to their problems will be found and the time is not far when
people around the world will be buying huge quantities of paper garments and
other paper products from their markets at very cheap prices.
